Abstract Sculpture - Abstraction indicates a departure from reality, a degree of independence from visual references in the world. It exists along a continuum, with artists from the impressionists, expressionists, cubists, surrealists, etc. following different paths to depict their own truths.
Our perception of the world is through our five senses, and I rely on these same senses to see and feel the potentialities within a stone. The stone itself, with its flaws and strengths, colors and textures, will help determine the final outcome.
