Churchill, Canada

Every year beginning in late October, polar bears and tourists congregate in Churchill, Canada - the “polar bear capital of the world”. Located in Manitoba, on the western bank of Hudson Bay, the bears arrive to hunt ringed seals as the bay freezes over. With a population of only 870 people, the winter night skies are dark, and the northern lights paint the clear night skies green and violet.
