I love working in multiple mediums, combining the different qualities of stone, glass, and metal. Celestial dreams was inspired by an exercise in Betty Edward's book, "Drawing From The Heart", an exercise where you contemplate some place or person, and then freely doodle what comes to mind. I was thinking about our home in Plymouth, Mass. where we can appreciate both the sea and the panoramic view of the night sky. I incorporated these feelings into my sketch, and then created the sculpture in steel, copper, and glass, using the studios at Snow Farm. The top portion of the sculpture, containing the stars, moon, and a comet is kinetic, and moves in a breeze.
